Police in Limassol appear to be putting an end to the terror caused by a group of youngsters.
Recently, several complaints had been made to the police by citizens who were victims of thefts and assaults in the area of the Turkish Cypriot Quarter.
In fact, a young girl told the Cyprus Times that just yesterday, her aunt, while returning home, had been attacked[/B] when the group of young men on motorbikes attempted to steal her handbag without succeeding.They threw her on the floor and beat her in their attempt to wrestle her from her shoulder.
In the course of investigations of the above cases, testimonies were obtained against 5 persons who were brought to the police station. They are a 17-year-old and two 15-year-olds who were arrested on court warrants, as well as a 13-year-old and a 12-year-old who are not criminally responsible persons. These are the same persons against whom three other cases were recently registered.
The three arrested persons are being investigated this time for involvement in four cases involving attempted robbery, theft from persons and theft of motorcycles.
