On 28/02/22 at 7.30 in the afternoon, during the football match at the Hermes of Polemidia stadium in Polemidia, between the football teams of the Youth Centres of Agios Ioannis and Oras, (rural championship) a 25-year-old man playing with one team attacked and punched a 20-year-old rival football player in the face.
After being examined at the Limassol General Hospital, the 20-year-old was found to have a fracture of the cheekbones and the bones of the upper jaw.
A judicial arrest warrant was issued against the 25-year-old, under which he was arrested yesterday afternoon and taken into custody to facilitate interrogations.
The Limassol CID is continuing the investigations.
