Greek Defence Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos gave a response to the criticism about uncontrolled flights of Turkish UAVs, in his intervention in the competent committee of the Parliament, where the contracts for the acquisition of Rafale fighter aircraft, frigates and torpedoes are being discussed.
"The feeling that we are unconcerned about the UAV threat is wrong. Panagiotopoulos, without revealing publicly what steps the Ministry of National Defense is taking, as the discussion was not closed.
"Because I see that some people have the feeling that we are watching and doing nothing about Turkey's UAVs, it is not the time to analyze what the Ministry of National Defense is doing about these systems," he said.

"We don't have to report every hour and moment on what moves we are making and how we are proceeding. But the sense that we are unconcerned about the UAV threat is wrong. Many moves are being made at many levels," he noted.
At the same time, Panagiotopoulos noted that "companies that can present solutions have absolute access to the MoD. Let them make the presentation to do the evaluation and move on. This process is ongoing."
"Anyone who wants to show something can do so before the relevant staffs. The leadership of the Ministry of National Defence has proven that it listens to the staffs and meets their needs to a very large extent," the Defence Minister concluded.
