A minor crash of the Athens-Macedonia Area Control Center system "hit" the airlines for about 40 minutes - There were delays mainly in take-offs - The problem has been restored
"Black" was on the screens of air traffic controllers at several airports across the country this afternoon after the Athens Macedonia Area Control Center system partially crashed for about 40 minutes
The problem was fully restored. However, there were delays mainly in aircraft take-offs, which were not executed. Landings were taking place normally, with reports that no contact was lost with aircraft in the air.
Aircraft departures started when the system was restored. However, it remains unknown so far what caused the failure.
