The EODY announced the new coronavirus cases for today, Wednesday 16 February Of the patients hospitalized on intubation, 364 are unvaccinated 5,918 new cases in Attica, 2.140 in Thessaloniki

Close to 20,000 coronavirus cases as 19,509 new cases, 82 deaths and 485 intubated cases were announced today, Wednesday 16 February.

The EODY's announcement states: The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 19,509, of which 42 were identified following checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 2,235,920 (daily change +0.9%), of which 49.7% are men.

Based on the confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 373 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 2,186 are associated with an already known case. The RT for the territory based on cases is estimated at 0.99 (95% CI: 0.92 - 1.06).

New deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 82, with a total of 25,001 deaths recorded since the start of the outbreak. 95.0% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.

The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 485 (62.7% male). Their median age is 66 years. 86.0% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Among the hospitalized intubated patients, 364 (75.05%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 121 (24.95%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,164 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
