EODY's announcement on the pandemic situation in the last 24 hours in Greece
The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 21,863.
The number of deaths reached 56.
The number of intubated persons reached 359.
The EODY's statement:
The new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in the last 24 hours are 21,863, of which 25 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 2,583,366 (daily change +0.9%), of which 49.4% are men. Based on the confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 196 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 1,077 are associated with an already known case.
New deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 56, with a total of 26,424 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic.
95.2% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 359 (64.3% male). Their median age is 68 years. 88.6% have an underlying disease and/or are 70 years of age or older. Among intubated patients, 237 (66.02%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 122 (33.98%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,324 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
The admissions of new Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 357 (daily change +36.78%). The seven-day average admission is 282 patients.The median age of cases is 35 years (range 0.2 to 108 years), while the median age of deaths is 79 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
