The Government will buy grain stocks, a total of 36 thousand tons of barley and corn, lasting 30 days in two shipments, to address the problem of increases and shortage of grain from the market due to the effects of the war in Ukraine.

Speaking at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Agriculture Minister Kostas Kadis said that then the ministry will work in transparent procedures with importers on how to manage these strategic stocks.

For her part, Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry Natasha Pilidou said that a mechanism should be found to support those affected to ensure that there is no obscenity at the expense of the taxpayer and, on the other hand, to support the right groups of entrepreneurs.
