Google[/B] has announced the integration of Air Raid Alerts for Android smartphones in Ukraine, a feature that will alert users of upcoming air raids in the area where they are located.
The company said in its announcement that it went ahead with the development of the system at the request of the Ukrainian government and in cooperation with the country's existing system. As Vice President of Development Dave Burke explains in the official blog, the Air Raid Alerts system takes advantage of the capabilities of the corresponding earthquake alert mechanism.
In the same blog, Google stresses that it will continue to limit the appearance of certain government media from Russia on its platforms, and has suspended many of its commercial activities in the country such as ads, new subscriptions to Google Cloud, payment systems on its services, etc.It should be noted that its free services including Google Search, Gmail and YouTube are still operating normally in Russia.
