"Goodwill Ambassador for Shipping" was reappointed Assistant DG of the Chamber of Shipping
"Goodwill Ambassador for Shipping" of the International Maritime Organization, for Cyprus, the Assistant Director General of the Cyprus Chamber of Shipping, Alexandros Iosifides, has been reappointed.
In a statement, the Chamber welcomes the reappointment for the period 2022-2023 and expresses its sincere thanks to the Deputy Ministry of Shipping for supporting and promoting the reappointment.
It states that as Maritime Ambassador for the past seven years, Mr. Iosifides, through the multifaceted work of the Chamber, successfully supports this institution, with his active participation in the Chamber's continuous and wider effort to attract young people to the maritime professions, helping them to form the right image for a career in the shipping sector, thus ensuring the sustainable staffing and development of the Cyprus Maritime Industry.
Some of the important educational activities of the Chamber, it adds, are the Ship Adoption Programme, which has been operating successfully for the last 16 years, with the valuable cooperation of the Cyprus Union for the Protection of the Marine Environment (CYMEPA), visits and presentations to secondary schools and high schools, the organisation of and participation in career fairs all over Cyprus.
The Chamber of Shipping refers, considers that the reappointment of Mr. Iosifides reflects the recognition of the continuous and valuable contribution of the Cyprus Chamber of Shipping over the years in this direction and promises to continue with the same zeal.
