The businessman was held hostage for 66 days and was released on Friday after his family paid the ransom. He said what kept him alive was his children, whom he described as his "Achilles' heel."

"I was afraid that I would never see my children again. For me, they are everything," he told the STAR main newscast, his eyes filled with tears.

His feelings, he admitted, are strange, as he still does not realize that the nightmare he lived through is finally over.

According to his description, the kidnappers appeared before him as police officers, put a hood over his head and carried him away in a black jeep, like the ones the OPKE has. He was then taken to a room where he communicated with them only for his food.

"The room was closed, I had a TV inside and when I wanted to eat, I put on a hood and knocked on their door. Logically there must have been a camera in the room... that's how I understood it."

The 40-year-old denied speculation that he owed money and that this was linked to his kidnapping, making it clear he did not know the people behind it.

Eventually, the ransom was delivered and was significantly less than the amount they had demanded, but eventually the kidnappers released him in a deserted area in Tatoi.

"I was afraid they would kill me where they took me. After all, how many kidnappings have been done and they have been cleaned up? One of them then says to me "duck down, don't take off the tape and count to 50". Eventually a man in a van took me away," the businessman said, while expressing his relief that he returned unharmed to his family.
