Snowfall continues in Greece, which has been in a cold snap for the last 24 hours, with the onslaught of bad weather "Philip".

The wave of bad weather seems to be moving eastwards, while from Sunday the weather is expected to weaken.

According to the Greek Meteorological Department, snowfall is expected to be locally dense in Evia, Halkidiki, Sporades, the eastern mainland and the mountains and semi-mountains of Crete. The temperature remains very low for the season, while heavy frost is expected in the morning and evening hours, partly total in the northwestern mainland.

Meanwhile, in Athens, public transport is adapting to the severity of the weather conditions, as announced by the Athens Urban Transport Organisation, replacing all articulated buses with 12-metre vehicles today.

According to the weather forecast, the phenomena will gradually begin to weaken from Sunday morning and will stop in most areas by midday, while they will continue in places in Crete, the eastern Peloponnese, eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
