Today, periods of sunshine will alternate with periods of increased cloudiness, mainly in the midday and afternoon with isolated rain expected in mountainous areas south of the Troodos and locally on the south and southwest coast. Locally, snow is likely in some mountainous areas. Winds will be northwest to northeast and in the afternoon in the west southwest to west, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, but in the morning on the windward coast moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little choppy but in the morning in the north and east up to choppy. The temperature will rise to around 15 degrees inland, around 16 degrees on the coast and around 3 degrees in the higher mountains, where frost is possible in places.
Tonight, the weather will be mainly clear but there will be patchy clouds in places. Winds will initially blow mainly northwest to northeast, light, 3 Beaufort, but will later become west to northwest, light and occasionally locally in the west up to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly choppy on the south and east coasts and slightly choppy on the west and north coasts. Temperatures will drop to around 4 degrees inland, around 6 in the south and east coasts, around 8 in the west and north coasts and around zero in the higher mountains. Frost is expected to form locally in the mountains.
Over the weekend, periods of sunshine will alternate with periods of increased cloudiness, which is expected to produce isolated rain in some areas as well as snow, locally in the mountains. From Sunday noon onwards the weather will become mainly clear, while generally on Sunday a very strong northerly to northeasterly wind is expected. On Monday, the weather will be mainly clear, although there will be occasional clouds.
The temperature will rise slightly on Saturday, to be close to the average climatic values, while on Sunday a significant drop is expected, to be well below the average climatic values. On Monday, a rise in temperature is expected, but it will remain just below average climatic values.
The snow depth at Troodos Square, at the time of writing, was 7 cm.
