Complaints of 16 citizens and 12 businesses for violation of measures against the dispersal of COVID-19
In 16 complaints of citizens and 12 businesses for violation of measures against the dispersal of the coronavirus, the Police proceeded in the last 24 hours as a total of 1.778 checks throughout the free Cyprus.
Specifically, in Nicosia 554 checks were carried out and 5 citizens and 8 establishments were reported, in Limassol 171 checks were carried out with 3 citizens and 3 establishments reported, in Larnaca 2 citizens and a manager of an establishment were reported after 385 checks, in Paphos 73 checks were made without any complaints , in Famagusta 6 citizens were complained about after 359 checks, while in Morphou 88 checks were made without any complaints.
Finally, the Traffic Police carried out 145 checks and the Port Police 3 checks without any complaints.
Thousands of fines to establishments and businesses
Regarding complaints against establishments, in Nicosia the Police imposed a fine of €8.000 to a establishment in which employees without a safe pass were found, while six managers of establishments, who either did not possess a safe pass or allowed employees to work without a safe pass, were fined[/B].
A cafeteria in Limassol was fined €8,000 after it was found that customers were not checked for a safe pass when entering the establishment. Another two premises were fined €1,000 for failing to display required signage, while a company office was fined €750 after an employee failed to have a safe pass.
In a establishment in Larnaca the police fined 500 euros after an employee did not have a safe pass.
