Police checks on the Dialysis Law
The Police continues its intensive checks on a nationwide basis, for compliance with the measures and implementation of the Ordinances of the Dialysis Law.
Specifically, in the last 24 hours (6p.p.m. yesterday Wednesday 05/01/22 - 6 a.m. today Thursday 06/01/22), 2,289 checks were carried out nationwide, of which 1,224 concerned checks for safepass, while a total of 24 complaints of citizens and 6 complaints of establishments for violation of the measures were made.
With regard to citizens, the majority of complaints concerned the non-use of protective masks.
With regard to establishments, most of the complaints concerned establishment managers who allowed their employees to work without possessing a safepass, as follows:
Nicosia district
An extrajudicial notice to pay a fine of €500 was issued to the post office manager, who was working without possessing a safepass. In addition, extrajudicial payment notices were issued to the managers of three other establishments (frutaria, bakery and restaurant) for the sums of €1,500, €750 and €1,500 respectively, after they allowed their employees to work without possessing a safepass.
Limassol district
Also, an extrajudicial notice to pay a fine of €3,000 was issued to the manager of a cafeteria after he failed to exercise control over the validity of the safepasses at the entrance of the establishment.
Famagusta District
Finally, an extrajudicial notice to pay a fine of €8,000 was issued to the owner of a supermarket, since there were no necessary markings at the entrance for customer and employee capacity.
The Police reminds once again that enforcement is not only the responsibility of the Police and other relevant public services, but is the responsibility of everyone. "Each person in charge of each premises plays their own role and there should be a horizontal division of responsibility," the statement concludes.
