With the main objective of controlling the air defence system of the Republic of Cyprus, as well as the training of the National Air Force personnel in real conditions, from today until Saturday fighter flights of the French Air Force are taking place within the airspace of the Republic of Cyprus.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence, the training activity, which is part of the implementation of the defence cooperation programme between Cyprus and France, will take place in parts of the land and airspace of the Republic of Cyprus.
It is noted that the flights to be performed today are part of the preparation for the "TALOS/2022" air exercise, which will take place on Friday and concerns the virtual attack of targets by fighter aircraft and the reaction of the National Guard's anti-aircraft systems.
