The Foreign Minister's contacts and meetings in Paris on the Indo-Pacific and Ukraine
Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides' contacts and meetings in Paris on the situation in the Indo-Pacific and the latest developments in Ukraine, as well as on issues related to bilateral relations with France and the Cyprus problem have been completed. Mr. Kasoulides will return to Cyprus on Thursday, February 24. Kasoulides held separate meetings with the President of the Cyprus-France Parliamentary Friendship Group, Nadia Essayan, the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, Jean Louis Bourlanges and the President of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee of the French Senate, Christian Cambon. The focus of Mr. Kasoulides' meetings was, inter alia, on bilateral relations between Cyprus and France and the prospect of their further deepening in individual areas, the Cyprus problem and our proposals in the framework of the Confidence Building Measures, as well as other current regional and international issues of common interest.
On Tuesday morning, Mr. Kasoulides participated in the ministerial meeting organized by the French Presidency of the EU Council for the Indo-Pacific. During the meeting, he had the opportunity to exchange views with his counterparts in a round table discussion on climate change and biodiversity.
In the afternoon of the same day, the Foreign Minister participated in an informal meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council held in an extraordinary session in Paris to review the situation in Ukraine and examine practical ways for the EU to respond.
