In a suspect the police proceeded with the fire in Porto Germeno, as a man was found in the forest with flammable material.
According to Mega, police spotted the suspect in the area of the fire and proceeded to arrest him, as he had a bottle of flammable material with him, leading him to the police station of the area to examine if he is related to the fire.
The fire brigade has also been informed of the suspect's arrival.
So far, the Porto Germeno fire has burned thousands of acres of forest, while a house has been severely damaged.
It is noted that the fire on the ridge has been contained and is being controlled by ground forces, and there is no danger of it moving towards Psatha.
On the Porto Germanos side and to the east-southeast, efforts continue with ground and air means to contain it.
