Declaration of abstention from the seat of the Mixed Jury Court in the trial of Petros Filippidis was submitted by the prosecutor due to a past incident with one of the defendant's defense attorneys for a serial rape and two attempted rapes.
However, defense attorney Kiki Bakirtzidou argued, that the prosecutor need not abstain, stating that what happened in another case in Thessaloniki belongs to the past and that she appreciates the prosecutor.
The court adjourned to rule on the matter, while an affidavit that Petros Filippidis cannot attend the courtroom today was filed by his other lawyer Michalis Dimitrakopoulos.
"Mr. Filippidis for health reasons is not present before you. He has a serious health problem, he has lost 25 kg. You will see a Filippidis you will not believe, his image has nothing to do with it. This is a court here, not a theatrical performance," Dimitrakopoulos said.
Earlier, actresses Anna Maria Papacharalambous, Lena Drosaki arrived at the court along with her husband, Alexandros Bourdoumis, Penelope Anastasopoulou, Evelyne Papoulia, Zeta Doukas and Spyros Bibilas.
The list of witnesses includes actresses Katia Dandoulaki, Chrysa Pappa, Lena Drosaki and Evelyne Papoulia, a fact confirmed by his lawyer, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, noting: "It is true, in the sense that we have been notified by the women accusing him, who propose these women as witnesses in court. Mr. Filippides will be "present" and will respond."
