Conspiracy to commit a felony Police made a fifth arrest for the vehicle scam

Police arrested a 63-year-old[/B] Nicosia resident last night, for facilitating interrogations in connection with an investigated case of conspiracy to commit a felony and a misdemeanor, abuse of authority, issuing false certificates by public officials, neglect of official duty, forgery, circulation of forged documents and securing registration with false representations.


The arrest of the 63-year-old is the fifth arrest, for this case, after four other arrests were made yesterday to facilitate interrogations.

They are two men, aged 35 and 46, and two women aged 43 and 49.

According to the data under examination, between the dates 01/01/2021 - 17/02/2022 at least 29 vehicles were allegedly imported from foreign countries into Cyprus damaged, however they were registered at the Road Transport Department, in the Nicosia and Famagusta districts, as non-damaged.

The Police Headquarters Operations Department of the Police Headquarters is continuing its investigations.
