The proposal by the E/C side[/B] to open the illegal Tympos airport and Famagusta port in exchange for the returnof Varosha will definitely not be accepted, T/C leader Ersin Tatar said. He argued that the Cyprus problem is a sovereignty issue.
Speaking to Turkish state television TRT Haber while under quarantine, T/C leader Ersin Tatar said that after being diagnosed with COVID-19 his health is rapidly improving and stressed that he hopes to return to normal functioning as soon as possible.
Ersin Tatar said that the proposal of the Greek Cypriot side for the illegal Ercan airport and Famagusta port in exchange for the concession of the closed town of Varosha to the Greek Cypriot side will definitely not be accepted.
"Of course these are extremely misleading and show the bad intentions of the other side regarding the essence of the Cyprus settlement. The Cyprus problem is a question of sovereignty," the T/C leader claimed.
Ersin Tatar also said that the acceleration of armaments by the G/C side is an aggressive behavior that only increases tension. "It is not in anyone's interest to manage these processes in this way," he asserted.
