Expatriates from Pontus, who have been living in Cyprus for the last few years, appeal to the President of the Republic to consider the possibility of transferring and settling on the island Greeks who are in the war zone of Ukraine for humanitarian reasons.
In an open letter to the President of the Republic, the Pafos Greek Overseas Initiative Group notes that Greeks in the Mariupol region are already counting dead and wounded from the shelling and hostilities. For humanitarian reasons, they say in their letter, the Republic of Cyprus could consider the possibility of transferring and settling on the island Greeks from the war zone who are suffering.
