The young actress enchanted the TV audience as "Chrysauggi" See her photos
She is one of the most talented and promising actresses of the new generation. The reason is the beautiful Eugenia Xygorou, who successfully played the role of Chrysaugis in ERT's six-episode series "Love Illegon". The homonymous short story by Kostis Theotokis was transferred to the small screen through ERT's frequency by director Nikos Koutelidakis, while the script was signed by the charismatic Eleni Zioga: "I was simply invited to go to a first meeting with Mr. Koutelidakis and later some rehearsal meetings followed, until it was decided whether I was right for the role."
Then describing the feelings she experienced in taking the role she says: "From the first moment I found out that Nikos Koutelidakis was directing a script by Eleni Zioga based on a short story by Theotokis and I also read the short story, I think I was living in an ecstasy, in a delirium, I desperately wanted to be in this job. And I remember when Mr. Koutelidakis said the coveted: 'this is Goldilocks' I just covered myself up with my jacket and made inarticulate screams and while everyone was laughing, I couldn't manage my joy."
As the beautiful Eugenia tells "youfly", playing alongside Karyofyllia Karabetti and Nikos Psarras was an indescribable feeling:
"I can't describe how much Karyofyllia Karabetti and Nikos Psarras helped me. During the casting process when I found out that Therianos and Diamanto would be Nikos Psarras and Karyofyllia Karampeti respectively, my legs fell off. I first met Nikos Psarras during a casting session when they wanted to see us together, and he was so friendly and open that he put me at ease right away. I first met Karyophyllia Karampeti at the reading that we did the whole cast together and she was very approachable and caring. Well, later on in the shoot I can't describe how much they both helped me in terms of our scenes and beyond."
Eugenia herself admits that her physical appearance helped her for the role: "My physical appearance definitely helped me. It definitely helped me on a first level in getting this role, because if I didn't 'look' like what Mr. Koutelidakis had in mind as Chrysaigi, the casting rehearsals wouldn't have followed."
As for what's next after "Love Illegal", the young actress says: "The truth is that I would like to do everything. Theatre, cinema, and another mini TV series."
