The European Union is responding to the Russian invasion of Ukraine with a really tough measure that will hit Russia.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the closure of EU airspace to Russia.

"Aircraft from Russia will no longer be able to land, take off or fly over the airspace of the European Union" the Commission President announced.
