The Pafos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company, continuing its efforts to upgrade the tourism experience and implement actions that contribute to the transformation of Paphos Province into a smart destination (SMART destination), is currently implementing a number of actions, mainly to upgrade the experience through the use of technological tools and digitization of information.
As the director of the Pafos ETAP, Nassos Hadjigeorgiou, pointed out in an announcement, among other things, the smart application for the promotion of the Myth of Aphrodite will soon be completed, which includes all areas, points and elements associated with the myth, augmented reality technology, films, photographic material, audio tour, etc. He noted that the preparation of material and the placement of additional "smart" signs in various areas of the province is in progress, providing visitors with innovative, rich, intelligent and interactive information.
At the same time, he added, the presentation of several points of interest through a 360-degree tour, an audio tour in 5 languages, videos, photographic material, etc. is in its final stage.
Mr. Venus is currently in the process of preparing material and placing additional "smart" signs in various areas of the province, providing visitors with innovative, rich, intelligent and interactive information.
At the same time, he added, the presentation of several points of interest through a 360-degree tour, an audio tour in 5 languages, videos, photographic material, etc. is in its final stage. Hadjigeorgiou announced that in the coming weeks the upgrade of the material of the touch screens and the smart app in the archaeological park of Lower Paphos will be completed, while weather permitting, the taking of underwater shots will continue for a better presentation of the diving spots of the province.
Such interventions will take place throughout the year both within the municipalities of the province and in several communities that offer unique experiences and significant points of interest, he added.
He said that upgrading the experienced and using technology is particularly necessary for the future of the destination.
Trends and needs, he noted, are constantly changing. More and more individual visitors are now coming to the island, the use of technology in tourism is essential, and the need to offer interactive and creative experiences is ever increasing. Destinations that listen to the messages of the times and act directly to meet the challenges are the ones that will withstand the fierce competition and go strong and win in the years to come, concluded the Director of ETAP.
