Jean-Luc Brunel, former collaborator of Epstein, was found hanging in his cell Allegedly supplying the pedophile with minors
Jean-Luc Brunel,[/B] former head of a French modeling agency and accused of raping and promoting underage girls to Geoffrey Epstein, was found hanged in prison.
The 76-year-old was found hanged inside his cell in Paris' Château prison at 1am today, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office said. He said an investigation was being carried out into the cause of his death.
Brunel was arrested in December 2020 at Paris airport before boarding a plane to Dakar. At the time of his arrest, an investigation had already begun against him following allegations of rape of minors and adults and sexual harassment.
Authorities had also questioned Brunel for involvement in trafficking of underage girls for sexual exploitation.
Brunell was co-founder of the Karin Models modeling agency in the 1990s and had founded MC2 Model Management in the US with Epstein, who committed suicide in his Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking young girls for sexual exploitation.
When informed of the possible existence of underage French girls among Jeffrey Epstein's victims, the Paris prosecutor's office launched a preliminary investigation in August 2019 into whether the US billionaire had committed sex crimes on French soil or against underage French girls, and so turned then to the role of Brunel.
Virginia Giufri, who had claimed to have been a victim of trafficking by Geoffrey Epstein, claimed that Brunel offered girls jobs as models in the US but was actually promoting them to Epstein.
A few days ago, Britain's Prince Andrew settled out of court the sexual abuse lawsuit filed against him by Virginia Juffe
