\NΕΜΑ: With five vaccines, Europe is better prepared than last winter to fight COVID-19
Europe[/B] is in a better position to tackle the spread of COVID-19 than last winter, the European Medicines Agency stresses in a message posted on Twitter.
"With five approved vaccines in the EU, we are better prepared to fight COVID-19 than last winter," the post states.
"We encourage all citizens to get vaccinated to be protected against the serious illness and death caused by this virus," it adds.
As listed in a table accompanying the post, the vaccines Comirnaty (BioNTech/Pfizer), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzervia (AstraZeneca) and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) have already been approved for use in the European Union.
At the same time, the Russian vaccine Sputnik from Gamaleya Institute, China's Sinovac, French Sanofi's Vidprevtyn and Valneva's VLA2001 are in rolling evaluation status.
