Problems in the electricity supply in the occupied territories continue What the T/C media report

The area of Kioneli, where there is a continuous power cut, was visited yesterday by the "minister of energy and economy", Sunat Atun where he listened to the complaints of the people and urged them and not to use all electrical appliances in their homes for a period of 4 days until the breakdowns are repaired.

According to the Turkish press, Atun said that by next Saturday the work of repairing the damages will be completed.

Meanwhile, the "electricity authority" today announced a new long power cut from 9.40am to 4pm and a specific area, that of Kioneli.

The "electricity authority" workers' guild, El Sen announced today that it will proceed to cut the power supply to "government" departments and organisations that are in debt to the "authority".

Guild president Kubilao Ozkirach said in his written statement that they will start first with the "Ministry of Finance" which owes TL 152 million to the "authority" and will continue with the "wakufi department" and "Bayrak" which also have large arrears. He noted that "state" and "semi-government" departments and agencies owe the "electricity authority" TL 900 million and instead of collecting, the "authority" is constantly forced to take loans that lead it to bankruptcy.

This is the last time we warn the "government" that will be formed," said the trade unionist, saying that the employees of the "authority" who always work sacrificially and their guild El-Sen, will do their best to remove the debt that the "state" piles on its own "people". If this insensitivity continues, we will not hesitate to take any action as in the past, concludes Ozkirac."
