New EDEK statement addressed to AKEL Expects answers from the leadership of the left-wing party "We are waiting, then, from the leadership of AKEL to tell us why it did not show sensitivity in cases of real scandals" as stated

The EDEK is back with a strongly worded statement against AKEL, in response to what was published a few days ago regarding the case of the land company sold to an Iraqi investor.

This was followed by the issuance of statements in the previous days, with EDEK, however, expecting answers from the AKEL leadership to a series of questions it had raised.

In a new statement today, EDEK, which refers to "distorted and distorted arguments", asks why the left-wing party has not shown sensitivity in cases of real scandals.

"We would expect a leadership that wants to appear responsible to answer publicly the very serious questions we have raised. Not only has it not answered our questions, it has not even apologised for the distorted and misrepresented arguments used by the "Politis" newspaper article which attempt to hurt the President of the EPP.
We therefore expect the AKEL leadership to tell us why it has not shown sensitivity in cases of real scandals such as:

  • The stock exchange
  • The Focus scandal
  • The scandal of Synergatis
  • The banking scandal
  • The failure to hand over to Parliament the DVDs of the closed of the closed circuits of the banks' administration buildings during the week they were closed so that we could see what the officials entering the administration buildings were doing.
  • The investigation, which the EPP insisted on asking about who issued and how they handed over the passport of the Republic of Cyprus to the current representative of the occupation regime

But in particular, why did he not show sensitivity in the case of the 2001 rental process of the offices for the Pharmaceutical Services? What is he trying to hide?" the statement concludes.
