[Cyprus Times] Drunk man insulted police officers and when they tried to arrest him he hit a member of the force

Drunk man insulted police officers and when they tried to arrest him he hit a member of the force.

Authorities handcuffed a 50-year-old man in Paphos after he insulted and assaulted members of the police.

Specifically, around 10pm last night, police were alerted that a 50-year-old

was causing a disturbance in the Kato Paphos area. At the sight of the police officers, the 50-year-old, who was allegedly

under the influence of alcohol

and , started to swear at the members of the force.

Police members attempted to

arrest the 50-year-old man; however, he resisted and struck a police officer.

Eventually, he was able to be arrested and the 50-year-old man was taken into custody.
