Driver ran a red light in Las Vegas 9 people killed and one in critical condition

Nine people died Saturday in a pileup caused by a driver who ran a red light and collided with five other vehicles in Las Vegas, police said.

One man is being treated in critical condition.

"We've never seen a fatal crash like this before," police spokesman Alexander Cuevas said.

According to police, a Dodge Challenger sped through an intersection before colliding with vehicles stopped ahead. Children are amount the dead.

Around 3 p.m., a Dodge Challenger car ran a red light at an intersection, running at "high speed." It then "collided with several vehicles, causing chaos." According to the spokesman, the crash involved six vehicles and 15 people.

The driver and passengers of the car that caused the crash were killed.
