TV's Areti from "Land of Olives", also known as Dora Chrysiko, was today a guest on Eleonora Meleti's show "MEGA Kalimera". The actress spoke about the role she plays in the beloved MEGA series, her battle with cancer, #MeToo and her excommunication by Metropolitan Florini when she was only 14 years old!

"The truth is that we are happy about the series and that we have a job, after two difficult years for acting, due to a pandemic. We have enough people working, which in itself is a positive thing. To say we're not happy that the show is doing so well would be a lie. After all, that's the ultimate goal, to be loved for what we do," she said of her participation in "Land of the Olive."

About Virtue, the role she portrays, she said that "she's not the best person, but she has a lot of interesting qualities." For her, Areti is a challenging role because she is not completely loved by the audience.

Essentially, this is the first time in her career that she is playing a negative character, which requires a different language, meaning she has to find other footing to play a character she is at odds with, as she has nothing in common with him.

As for the feedback she receives from the audience, Dora Chrysiko said: "People may say about the character that she's crooked, that she's cunning and treats her children badly, which is true, but they say kudos to you because you've gotten under the skin of the role. For me, that's success."

The actress also spoke about her health adventure and said the messages she received made her never regret her decision to go public.

"2021 was a difficult year. I currently consider myself to have put it (cc her adventure) behind me. All I took away from it was the fragility of life, that it's a lightning bolt. The other thing is that we have power that sometimes we don't fully understand that we have. I think the attitude we take to things, the philosophy of life we have, empowers everything we do, infuses our whole being," she said, adding: "I was very scared. I tried not to project it, not to let it surround me and tear me down (cc her fear). Fear is a very normal and human thing. I just think we have to rise above fear in order to be able to exist."

On #MeToo, Dora Chrysiko said that: "Greek society is ready to listen and accept those who have been subjected to abusive behaviour. I think only good can come out of this. When you manage the trauma, when you communicate it, it is a step towards the light. Now we can breathe more freely, because this stuff is no longer tolerated. The perpetrators know when they have crossed the line."

Finally, the actress also referred to her participation in Theodoros Angelopoulos' film "The Meteoric Step of the Stork", which was to be the cause of her excommunication. "I was the scandal stone. I have witnessed scenes of infinite beauty in Florina, fanatics pulling me by the hair to throw me into the river... It was terrifying".

As she said, the metropolitan excommunicated her because of some... "pornographic" scenes in the film, which she called funny for anyone who knows Angelopoulos' work, and stressed that it was all a power struggle of the Metropolitan of Florina, which resulted in her "paying" in the end, in a way.
