Dimitris Tsovolas breathed his last a short while ago.[/B] According to reports, he was being treated in the ICU of Attikon Hospital, battling lung cancer.

He had served as finance minister in Andreas Papandreou's second government between 1985 and 1989.

He was born in 1942 in Melissourgoi, Arta.

He had studied law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and was a distinguished lawyer.Since 2004, he has decided to leave politics and has been exclusively involved in the legal profession.

In fact, he was a lawyer for the family of Alexandros Grigoropoulos after 2008. He was married to Katerina Gioti and has two children.
