The police are now investigating the case of the death of the two-month-old infant who was taken to Limassol Hospital last Saturday morning by his parents without a pulse and then to Makarios Hospital.
Members of the Limassol CID handcuffed the parents of the unfortunate infant, a 37-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, foreigners. The necropsy carried out by forensic experts Angeliki Papetta and Orthodox Orthodoxy on the body of the unfortunate infant revealed severe craniocerebral injury of traumatic origin and therefore the case is under investigation.
We are informed that according to the findings of the forensic experts, the infant had two other fractures and a subdural hematoma of the spinal cord and according to the police, the forensic experts concluded that it was a malicious traumatic brain injury, ruling out the possibility that the injuries were caused by an accident inside the house.
It is noted that the autopsy began yesterday and continued today, when it was completed.
As reported in a Cyprus Times report from Saturday, attempts were made at the Limassol Hospital for respiratory resuscitation and the baby was intubated. He was subsequently transferred to Makarios Hospital in a very poor condition, admitted to intensive care but unfortunately passed away a few hours later.
Investigations by Limassol CID are ongoing.
