What people close to the doctors reveal
While the authorities are trying to unravel the tangle of the deaths of the three girls of the Daskalakis family in Patras, at least two doctors appear reluctant to testify about the case.
According to the newspaper Peloponnisos, the two doctors of the Clinics of the Karamandaneion Children's Hospital and the University General Hospital of Patras, where Malena and Georgina were treated, said that if it were up to them, they would not want to testify to the investigating authorities.
In one case, a doctor at the PNP revealed to a friend that "he does not want to get involved and that is why he does not speak publicly, nor does he wish to refer to this issue in private conversations...".
The second case concerns a female doctor at the Karamandaneum, who described to her friends a scene that shocked her on the day when 9-year-old Georgina "passed away" and was brought back to life by a colleague after 50 minutes.
The doctor in question was in the corridor of the room where Georgina was being treated that day - and while superhuman efforts were being made to save the little girl - she heard a voice, according to her shocking description to her friends, say: "The little girl is suffering. Nothing can be done. Let her go. All hope has been lost for so long..."
