What is included in the first humanitarian aid package

Next Tuesday, 8 March[/B], the first shipment of humanitarian aid from Cyprus to the Ukrainian people is expected, following arrangements made in consultation with the European Union's Civil Protection Mechanism.

The first humanitarian aid package

1.Medical supplies worth €700,000.

2.Food, for the collection of which more than 40 centres were activated across the country.

3.Civil protection equipment (tents, sleeping bags, first aid kits, etc.).It is noted that the Government has already contributed, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the amount of €100,000 to the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (Ukraine Humanitarian Fund United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs).



The Government wishes to thank the citizens, organizations, agencies, private companies, municipalities, communities, the Cyprus Port Authority and all those who contributed to the effort to collect humanitarian aid, which once again demonstrates the sensitivity of our people, who stand by the Ukrainian people.

The assessment of needs on the ground continues in cooperation with the Union Civil Protection Mechanism.

It is clarified that the collection of humanitarian aid at the centres operating throughout Cyprus continues.
