The Cyprus and UAE Defence Ministers defined the next actions for defence cooperation
The Cyprus and UAE Defence Ministers, Haralambos Petrides and Mohammed Al Bowardi discussed today in Abu Dhabi issues of defence interest and defined their next actions, based on the Memorandum of Understanding and the 2021-22 bilateral defence cooperation programme.
An official statement issued by the Ministry of Defence said that Petridis, who is accompanying the President of the Republic along with other officials during his visit to Dubai, held a series of meetings and contacts in Abu Dhabi today and in particular had a bilateral meeting and working lunch with Minister of Defence Mohammed Al Bowardi.
The two Ministers exchanged views on recent developments in Ukraine and security in the wider Gulf and Eastern Mediterranean region, reaffirming their commitment to promote cooperation for peace and stability.
In addition, Mr. Petridis laid a wreath at the Wahat Al Karama Martyrs and Heroes Monument and was given a tour of the site by Sheikh Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan.
He then visited the Unmanned Weapon Systems Exhibition (UMEX22), during which he was informed about the latest technological developments in the field.
