New evidence has come to light about the brutal murder of a 55-year-old man by his partner on Thursday afternoon in the Sismoplakta area of Ioannina.

According to the testimonies of neighbours the couple, who were not married and had been living together for the last few years, were facing various problems of a financial and medical nature and had frequent quarrels.

The 55-year-old woman, who worked occasionally in elderly care, had anger and alcoholism problems, while the victim, the 55-year-old man, who had a child from a previous marriage, had mental health problems.

In particular, the 55-year-old suffered from depression, and was often threatened by his partner, especially when she drank and got drunk.

Last Thursday, the fights between the couple became more intense with the 55-year-old taking a kitchen knife and plunging it into her partner's heart

When she realised what she had done, she called the ambulance and asked for help, stating that her partner had self-harmed himself in the chest due to the psychological issues he was facing.

The ambulance men believed the 55-year-old woman as she showed them and the medication the 55-year-old was taking and picked up the unfortunate man and took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

However, what the 55-year-old murderer did not expect was that the doctors alerted, as they always do in these cases, the police who ordered a forensic examination to determine the exact cause of the 55-year-old's death.

In the examination that followed the next day, the coroner revealed the truth, that the wound of the 55-year-old could not have been self-inflicted but by another person and that the unfortunate man was defending himself.

Immediately, the police officers of the Ioannina Police Department returned to the home of the 55-year-old murderer who was arrested after admitting that she stabbed her 55-year-old partner, giving them the murder weapon.

When asked by police officers why she killed him, she said they had an argument and she couldn't take it anymore.
