Coordinated Police operation in the Community of Chloraka
The Police continued the coordinated operations for policing the Community of Chloraka, yesterday.
According to the Press Spokesman and Head of the Paphos CID Michael Nicolaou, during the operation, checks were carried out at several houses, apartment complexes and traffic checks.
One person was found to be violating the decree of the Minister of Interior dated 3/12/2021, concerning the prohibition of settlement of applicants for international protection within the community.A criminal case is being investigated against the above person , as well as and the owner of the apartment complex where he was found residing, for violating the relevant decree.
Also, during the operation, vehicles and persons were stopped for inspection.
At the same time, during the traffic checks carried out, members of the police made 7 complaints for various traffic offences.
One of the 7 complaints concerned driving under the influence of drugs against a young man aged 19. The 19-year-old, who is a Paphos resident, was stopped for testing and a drug test was found to be positive. A second sample was taken which will be sent to the State General Chemistry Department for laboratory tests.
Tests are ongoing by the Paphos Police.
