An example to follow is a company in Cardiff, Wales, which will send its staff of 55 people on holiday to Tenerife to thank them for their efficiency during the pandemic.
The employees of the recruitment company "Yolk Recruitment" will be staying at a luxury hotel in Tenerife in April. The cost of their four-day holiday will be up to £100,000.
The company started in Cardiff 14 years ago and 2020 when the pandemic hit was its most challenging period. However, 2021 was its most profitable year. Its chief commercial officer said: "2020 was a really difficult period for our whole industry."
He continued: "Our staff went out on telecommuting so we just wanted to give everyone a hug and say thank you for their efforts and difficult circumstances over the last two years. We want them to feel cared for and make sure we appreciate all the hard work they've put in over the last two years."
Employee vacation will begin on April 1. "I have to admit I was surprised at first, thinking someone was joking with me as I was only a week in and they included me in the trip," said a 28-year-old employee who joined the company in early 2022.
