Community leaders of Vasilikos have decided to take dynamic measures regarding asphalt factories
The community leaders of the nine communities of Vasilikos are taking dynamic measures regarding the installation of asphalt factories in their area, as they are planning a protest event on Saturday, February 26, at 10:00 a.m. with the "cutting off of the Limassol-Lièkosia highway".
A statement from the Coordination Committee said that "the community leaders and residents of the nine communities of the Vasilikos area expressed their indignation during the meeting held on Thursday, February 17 at the Zygios Community Council Hall regarding the public consultation on the installation of the three asphalt concrete plants in the Kalavasos area".
"The community leaders and residents, unanimously did not accept the presentation and stated that they do not accept the installation of the plants in their area," it added.
Further, "the community leaders stated that they cease all contact with the relevant government departments and stated that they will take legal action against all those responsible."
"After leaving the hall, the community leaders held a meeting during which they decided to take a series of strong measures, starting with a protest event on Saturday, February 26 at 10:00 a.m. with a cut-off of the Limassol - Nicosia motorway," the statement concludes.
