The code of good governance of the CTO federations was the focus of a meeting held today at DIKO's offices between party President Nicolas Papadopoulos and CTO President Andreas Michaelides and members of the Board of Directors.
In statements after the meeting, Mr. Papadopoulos described the meeting as initially useful and constructive during which they discussed the challenges and prospects of Cypriot sport.
He noted that the COA has a very important role to play in promoting sport in the country, while he expressed his understanding for the long-standing problems that the Organization has to face. He added that today they discussed these problems as well as the solutions offered.
He said one of the problems is the way of better operation, proper management and good administration of the federations, which are of concern to the CTO. Papadopoulos expressed satisfaction at the finding today of the creation of a code of conduct that can be used for the way of operation that should be applied to all federations.
This will also help the CTO, he continued, to have a better supervisory role and the federations themselves to operate better, using in a better way the infrastructure and resources at their disposal to achieve the goal of promoting sport and supporting young people involved in CNA
