The Church and the State honored the memory of the heroes of the communities of Tala and Kissonerga The memorial service in the Church of the Nativity of the Savior Christ was presided over by Metropolitan George of Paphos

On Sunday, the Church and the State commemorated the memory of the heroes of the communities of Tala and Kissonerga, Christos Kkeli, Miltiadis Stylianou, Georgios Michael and Charalambos Karagiannis.

The memorial service in the holy church of the Nativity of Christ the Saviour was presided over by Metropolitan George of Pafos. The memorial speech was delivered by the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture Andreas Gregoriou, who praised their sacrifice.

Mr. Grigoriou noted that we are grateful to those who responded to the call of the homeland and fell for its freedom, independence and territorial integrity.

Kkelis and Stylianou fell in an ambush set up by traitors and British soldiers in the area of "Apis."

George Michael at the age of 16 was killed during a bomb ambush against a convoy of military vehicles.

The teacher Charalambos Karagiannis from Kissonerga , with a rich activity during the Turkandarsia, died after a 48-hour exercise of the artillery company of Athalassa, in February 1965. He was commander of the company since after the establishment of the SF he enlisted and trained as an officer in Greece.
