Letter from Christos Christofides, MP for AKEL, to the Attorney General Calls for an investigation into a rape ring in Greece and Cyprus
The AKEL MP, Christos Christofides today sent a letter to the Attorney General regarding allegations made in Greece about a ring that drugs and rapes young girls, and which, according to the allegations, is also active in Cyprus.
The text of the letter is as follows:
Mr. Georgios Savvidis
Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus
Attorney General's Office
18 January, 2022
Dear Mr. Attorney General,[/I][BR]In the last few days, allegations of an alleged serious crime have seen the light of day in Greece, which has been reportedly committed in Greece by a criminal ring that acts and operates illegally and criminally in Greece. I refer to the allegations of drugging and rape of a 24 year old girl in Thessaloniki.
According to allegations made by activist Ilias Gioni, the relevant link (link), https:/tvxs.gr/news/ellada/il-gkionis-sto-tvxsgr-itan-o-b-lebentis-tis-coca-cola-o-anthropos-poy-klithike-na-apolog for easy reference), a similar ring which drugs and rapes young girls is also active in Cyprus. I appeal to the credibility of the allegations considering Mr. Gioni's leading role in publicizing the case of the 24-year-old girl in Greece.
The allegations are very serious. They relate to criminal acts. Rape is one of the most heinous crimes. All the more so when it is carried out in an organised manner by organised circles.
Mr General,
You are invited to ensure that these complaints are investigated ex officio in cooperation with the competent authorities in Greece. There should be an immediate and in-depth investigation into the existence or otherwise of a rape ring in Cyprus consisting of prominent figures.
Yours sincerely,
Christos Christofides
MP AKEL Nicosia
