Nikos Christodoulides' staff denounces RIK for biased behaviour "We consider this attitude as deliberate and provocative"
With regret we note for the umpteenth time for the umpteenth time that the state television of RIK provocatively ignores the broadcasting of election activities and announcements of the independent candidate for the presidency of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides, said his staff in a written statement.
Specifically, Christodoulides' staff points out that "last night's RIK newscast did not show the publication of Mr. Christodoulides' programmatic positions on the most important issue of Defence and Security of the Republic of Cyprus, which was sent in an announcement this morning. The RIK newscast on 28 November was also missing the screening of the announcement of Nicos Christodoulides' staff on the invitation to all candidates for the presidency of the Republic for a joint campaign to register new voters on the electoral rolls."
It also points out that "since this phenomenon has been repeated and we have observed it since the beginning of the election campaign, we consider this attitude as deliberate and provocative."
"The state broadcaster is the property of the entire Cypriot people and the leadership of the Foundation must behave by acting objectively, fairly and equitably," he adds.
"We hope that this will be the last time that the Cyprus Broadcasting Foundation behaves in this discriminatory manner," Christodoulides' staff underlines in conclusion.
