EBKAF involved in 12 applications to the "real estate commission" since 2006, says its "chairwoman" What Kipris reports

This is not the first time that the "real estate commission" makes a decision such as EBKAF becoming a party to an application before it, said the "chairperson" of the "committee", Novber Ferrit Vejhi, saying that this has happened in 12 cases since 2006.

In exclusive remarks to Kipris, as quoted by the GMP, Vejhi said that the decision to make the EBKAF and the "religious affairs office" a party to an application is not a final decision, but an interim decision. "We will discuss this application and take a final decision."

"And the issue of becoming a party involved is solely about this application. It is specific to this application. Each application is evaluated within the application itself. That is, if we've made EBAF an intervening party here, it's not going to be an intervening party forever in all applications. The fact that EBKAF has been made a party involved does not affect the rights of the applicant, it does not change his legal status, it does not adversely affect his legal rights and interests."

The "committee" said its "chairperson" decided to make the EBKAF an involved party in order to enable the parties to put forward their claims in accordance with the purpose of their own establishment and to enable it to make a decision within the framework of justice at the stage of making a (final) decision.

The impression was created that this decision was made for the first time, he added. "But the management of the institutions has become a party involved 12 times on different dates since the establishment of the real estate commission till date. None of them were discussed, but this time it was discussed."

The aim of the "committee", he continued, is, according to its purpose of establishment, to take all its decisions in a fair, objective, complete and in line with the decisions of the ECHR and the "supreme court". For this reason, she said, the EBKAF became a party involved and noted that "the main decision will be taken later."

Ms. Vejhi said that to date a total of 7,070 applications have been submitted to the "committee" and there are 420 applications concerning Varosha. "These relate to the whole of Varosha, not just the pilot area" for which - she said - work is continuing.

She also said that they have completed 1,324 of the 7,070 applications and have decided on total compensation payments of £330 million. This payment is being made by the "finance ministry", she noted.
