She suffers from severe and persistent muscle spasms
Celebrity singer Celine Dion announced today the cancellation of the North American leg of her Courage tour due to persistent health problems. "I was indeed hoping to be ready to get back on stage now, but I see I need to be more patient," the star wrote on Twitter.
The singer, whose shows had to be postponed due to the pandemic, had already cancelled scheduled shows in Las Vegas between November 2021 and February 2022. Dionne was scheduled to resume her tour on March 9 in Denver and perform concerts in nearly 15 U.S. and Canadian cities through April 22. And those concerts are now cancelled as the recovery of the singer's health, who suffers from severe and persistent muscle spasms" that prevent her from singing on stage, "is taking longer than she had hoped," her organization said in a statement.
Celine Dion had performed the first 52 concerts of the tour before the onset of the pandemic in March 2020. Concerts on the European leg of the Courage tour remain scheduled as planned. They are expected to begin on May 25 in Birmingham, Britain. "I will be so happy when I get my health back, the pandemic will be behind us and I will be back on stage," the Canadian diva stressed.
