The next few hours are crucial for the case The first goal of the prosecuting authorities is the release of the 40-year-old businessman and, in a second time, the solving of the case
The next few hours are critical for the development of the kidnapping of the 40-year-old businessman, yesterday at midnight from Pikermi. Homicide analysts, from deciphering the data, have come to the conclusion that the kidnapping group definitely wants to finish the case and get the money from the family without leaving any traces behind.
The first goal of law enforcement authorities is the release of George Kyparissis and then the solving of the case and the arrest of the perpetrators. The brother of the kidnapped man, who has taken on the role of negotiator, plays a key role in the development, with the kidnappers initially demanding 2 million euros as a ransom for his release. A second key person is the woman with whom the 40-year-old was talking at the time of his abduction and who momentarily overheard the victim's conversation with the perpetrators, who were reportedly speaking Greek.
On the second level, the police are collecting evidence that will be used to solve the case. Thus, videos from cameras in the area are put under the microscope, in order to trace the route and movements of the two vehicles that took part in the first phase of the abduction, the mobile phone of the victim and the spots of the mobile phones that were in a specific search area at the time of the abduction, in order to form a picture of the movements and profile of the perpetrators. This is because they take it for granted that the two groups estimated to have taken part in the kidnapping of Kyparissis were communicating with each other. One followed him when he left his business in Menidi to dine at the restaurant in Ano Liosia to signal the second one when he was approaching his house in Pikermi to be kidnapped.
