Boris Johnson has responded to police questions about partygate, ruling out the possibility of resigning despite calls for him to leave office from the opposition and even from MPs of his own party, Johnson has been fighting for weeks to save his job
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has responded to a questionnaire sent to him by London police as part of an investigation into gatherings in Downing Street during the lockdown, his services said last night.
The head of the British government, whose political survival is at stake in this case, complied with Scotland Yard's request and sent answers to the inquiry's questionnaire within the seven-day deadline, Downing Street was assured.
The police investigation is focusing on at least 10 gatherings, which took place on eight dates in 2020 and 2021.
Eight days ago, London police said they would contact "over 50 people" and take statements from them in the "partygate" case, which has become a scandal in the UK.
Scotland Yard has stressed that the questionnaires have "legal status" and must be filled out "honestly."

The 57-year-old prime minister has found himself weakened by successive revelations about these gatherings, sometimes celebratory in nature, amid the pandemic, while ordinary Britons have seen their own social interactions severely curtailed by anti-pandemic measures.[/P]Source: APE
