Police in Limassol were mobilized, after the discovery of a body in a house located in the area of Polemidia.

The body of the man was in a state of advanced decomposition when it was found.

The man was a 37-year-old Greek Cypriot who was found dead on the bed of the house he was renting. His long absence and almost zero electricity consumption aroused the suspicions of his landlady who alerted a relative.

When they broke down the door and entered the room they found him dead and next to him, also dead, his dog who appeared to have died of starvation.

Members of the police rushed to the scene for examinations and a coroner was expected to be informed.

According to initial information, the unfortunate man was suffering from a chronic illness.

At first sight the possibility of criminal activity seems to be ruled out. The exact cause of his death will be revealed by the newly announced autopsy that will subsequently be performed on his body.

According to an update from the Police, examinations are ongoing and a case of sudden/natural death is being investigated.
