The model combines the classic, sporty elegance of the brand's coupe models with the comfort of a four-door and high doses of modern functionality. The i4 is on display in the showrooms of the Pilakuta Group in two versions, including the first BMW M with a zero-emission powertrain. The BMW i4 M50 uses an electric motor on the front axle and another at the rear offering a total system output of 544 hp while its range reaches 510 km on the WLTP cycle. At the base is the BMW i4 eDrive40 combining a 340 hp electric motor with classic rear-wheel drive and a maximum range of 590 km.
Inside, the dominant element is the driver-centric cockpit while a sense of luxury and spaciousness is pervasive with customizable spaces. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 470 to 1,290 litres while an electrically extendable and retractable towbar is available as an option and the maximum permissible trailer load is 1,600 kg. At the same time, the BMW i4 offers premium personalisation options that highlight its luxurious character.
The new generation of the iDrive visualisation and control/operation system installed for the first time in the BMW i4 extends the interaction between driver and vehicle to a natural dialogue. It is based on the new BMW Operating System 8 and has been designed with a clear focus on the touchscreen functionality of the BMW Curved Display and verbal communication with the extensively upgraded BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. In this fully digital BMW Curved Display, the display screen section (12.3") and the control screen (14.9") merge into one unit behind a crystal tilted towards the driver. The BMW i4 also offers data transmission using 5G.
The performance characteristics of the electric motors are defined by their rich torque - readily available from a standstill, maintained over a wide rev range. If the driver demands high power for more than 10 seconds, the BMW i4 M50 activates the Sport Boost program, which unleashes both maximum power and the drive system's 795 Nm of torque. This enables the BMW M version to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The drive system of the BMW i4 eDrive40 delivers a maximum torque of 430 Nm, for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. The sporty driving experience is accompanied by an exclusive sound that adapts to throttle commands.
